Greetings District 26,

HAPPY TOASTMASTERS NEW YEAR.   Admittedly, last Toastmasters year was a bit difficult with the complete phase out of the Traditional Program (with a few extensions) for complete Pathways involvement and the global pandemic.  Particularly, with the pandemic, we as Toastmasters were required to adjust “on the fly.”  However, as Toastmasters always do, we rose to the occasion.

It is July 2020 and we still find ourselves in the middle of the pandemic and many have grown weary.  That said, it is the perfect time to shift our focus back to our members.  This is the year to RE-ENERGIZE our individual enthusiasm about Toastmasters, RE-ENGAGE our members to focus on becoming better communicators and leaders, and REJUVENATE that Toastmasters spirit that has always been so inviting to guests and potential members.

As we begin this new year, I am excited and humbled to serve as your District Director.  I am also excited about the number volunteers who have stepped out of their comfort zones and have decided to serve in district leadership roles.  Please see our 2020-2021 District Leadership to “meet” our current leadership.  While you are there, please note there are a number of vacancies for Area Directors and if you are interested, please contact me at jlsmith.tm[at]nullgmail.com.
