I joined Toastmasters in February 2011 through a corporate club. When I changed jobs, I was in need of a new club. It was that point when my leadership opportunities opened up through first as an Area Director and then as a Division Director.

I love to mentor new leaders and help them find their own leadership style.

Taking this role continues to challenge me coming out of my comfort zone. This year I am asking that you do the same! Whether it is becoming a club officer, or through helping the district by holding a chair position. There is no better place to learn and not worry about failing than with Toastmasters.

On a recent tour to World Headquarters in Colorado, I found they have a computer where you can pull up all the flags of the world. I was able to locate two flags from my heritage: Mexico and Ireland.

I am excited to go to the Toastmasters International Convention this year for the first time! I am looking forward to meeting other Toastmasters from around the world. Please consider attending as I would love to see you there!
