District 26 - Serving Colorado, Wyoming and Western Nebraska

Greetings District 26

We are in full swing in the Toastmasters year. Dues renewal, October 1, has passed and Area Directors are busily visiting clubs and completing Area Club Visit Reports before the November 30th deadline.

Now is the time to get back to basics… that is, why did we join Toastmasters, what keeps us coming back and how do share the benefit of Toastmasters with others? It is the perfect time to take the pulse of our clubs and gauge what is working in keeping members and what potentially needs to be revamped. This is beneficial for the growth in membership and retention of existing membership.

  • Is your club adhering to the Club Mission of Toastmasters International in providing a safe atmosphere where individuals can develop and enhance their communication and leadership skills?
  • Are your club members adhering to the Core Values of Toastmasters, that of Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence?
  • Is your club providing quality club meetings?????????

I would encourage you to view Membership Growth, which details how to grow membership within your club. One way to foster positive club growth is by hosting periodic Open Houses, which allows the community at-large to come to a Toastmasters meeting and ask questions.

If you are interested in conducting an Open House for your club and would like some guidance on doing so, please feel free to contact me at CGD1819[at]nulld26leaders.org or you may review online resources here.
