Metro Denver TLI a Smashing Success!
Norman Frickey, ATM-G, ALB Denver TLI Co-coordinator, Foothills Division Governor

July 12, 2008 – A sunny summer Saturday morning –250 Metro Denver Toastmasters put aside plans to mow lawns, bike, hike or just hang out and descended on Red Rock Community College to attend the Summer Denver Area Toastmasters Leadership Institute. Two hundred newly-elected club officers received mandatory training (an important step in a club's quest for distinguished club status) while taking the opportunity to network and learn new skills. To increase the learning experience special officer sessions were conducted for those holding multiple offices in different clubs.

Following this training, most of these participants joined others taking advantage of the elective offerings designed to broaden their abilities as communicators and leaders. Six club improvement

electives ranging from "Maintaining Membership" to "Finding New Members." were followed by five personal and professional growth sessions conducted by members of The District 26 Toastmasters Speakers Bureau.

Coffee, rolls, bagels, and fruit fueled the enthusiastic fellowship, and it was all FREE.

Accolades included "great session – I really learned a lot." "I have something to take back to my club." "I really enjoyed the sessions and appreciate the efforts of all those who put it together." "It was good to meet other Toastmasters and exchange ideas."

A resounding round of applause to participants, planners and presenters.
