| The Toastmasters Program |
| Toastmasters can help you improve your Leadership & Communication skills. If you are interested in joining Toastmasters, you may want to know a little about how the program works. When you join, you receive two workbooks titled "Competent Communicator" and "Compentent Leader". These workbooks contains communication and leadership objectives, including ten speech objectives which engage you in specific aspects of public speaking and leadership skills which engage you in the functional aspects of the meetings and the club. You prepare and deliver each speech that which are usually five to seven minutes in length. You work at your own pace and each speech topic is up to you. When you complete all speech and leadership objectives, Toastmasters International will recognize you with a Certified Communicator award. This includes a certificate and an optional letter to your employer concerning your achievement. After this, higher levels may be achieved within Toastmasters, including AC (Advanced Communicator) Bronze, AC Silver, AC Gold and DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster). |
