Tracking Leadership Development

Where can a person receive a guide for leadership training for $4 that provides 22 different projects
whereby a person can practice leadership? Once again Toastmasters steps up and develops a guide
for that purpose. The educational material development team at Toastmasters identified several valued
skills for leaders. Compiled in the Competent Leadership Guide, the projects range from developing
listening skills to team building.

While the guide was developed to assist members develop or enhance their leadership skills, the guide
has a dual purpose. For clubs to earn award points in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP), members
must complete the guide to achieve Competent Leader. The guide, for all its strong project-oriented
strength, can be difficult to navigate. A table was developed to help members manage their progress
through the guide. Layed-out in a simple to read format, members can more easily track of their progress.

The program takes 10 to 15 minutes to present. Click the following links to view/download the training script and slides.
